Originally from the Czech Republic, Ren now lives in Bedfordshire, UK.

Ren trained as a classical pianist and moved to the UK in her early twenties in search of new adventures.

Alongside her life as a music teacher, Ren was always interested in visual arts and art history.

​

Her watercolour painting took off after taking Botanical Illustration classes as part of her horticultural education at that time at Regent's Park, London. She then took various private classes with practising  artists in Life painting, Portraiture, Natural History,  Still-life in both watercolour and acrylics.

Ren's recent steampunk-y linocuts emerged from her experimental sketchbook-keeping. She uses iPad Procreate App to merge random retro mechanics with animal imagery, transfers the slightly whacky ideas to the lino and carves away! Enjoy the madness!
